Ask a Dentist

Q: Are certain foods better for my teeth?

An assortment of foods including vegetables, fruits, meats and cheeses in separated containers.

A healthy diet affects the entire body, including your mouth! We recommend lots of fruits and vegetables - which can sometimes act as nature's toothbrushes. Cheese and black tea have been known to reduce plaque build-up. Foods containing calcium (cheese, almonds and leafy greens) and foods high in phosphorous (meat, eggs and fish) can help keep tooth enamel strong and healthy.

If you're worried about plaque build-up, you can always visit one of our St. Vital Centre or Garden City Shopping Centre locations for an appointment.
