At Dental Image Therapy Centres, we strive to create a welcoming and accommodating environment at our Garden City and St. Vital locations in Winnipeg. Recognizing the essential role service dogs play in supporting their owners, we are pleased to welcome them into our offices.

Here's what you need to know about bringing your service dog along to your dental appointment.

The Role of Service Dogs

Service dogs are trained to perform tasks and provide support for people with disabilities, enhancing their ability to navigate daily tasks, including medical and dental visits. These dogs are more than pets; they are vital aids for their handlers, offering physical, emotional, and psychological support.

We recognize the importance of these animals and fully support patients who rely on service dogs to manage health conditions. Whether it’s providing comfort during a procedure or helping with mobility, service dogs are permitted to accompany their owners into the examination rooms.

Before Your Visit

To ensure a smooth visit with your service dog, we kindly request that you inform our staff when booking your appointment. This allows us to prepare any necessary accommodations and ensures that your visit is comfortable both for you and for other patients in the clinic.

During Your Appointment

Service dogs are trained to behave impeccably in public settings, including medical environments. During your appointment, your service dog can stay by your side or at a designated spot in the examination room, whichever is most comfortable for you and most suitable for the dental procedures being performed.

Our staff is trained to understand the various roles that service animals play and provide any assistance you might need during your visit.
